ShooAway NZ is run by Lenker Marketing Limited ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you visit shooaway.co.nz, buy from us or get in touch. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.

Our online store runs on Shopify. By using our website, you agree to your information being handled as set out below.

What We Collect

Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:

Contact details including your name, delivery and billing address, phone number and email address.
Order details including what you've viewed, added to your cart, bought, returned or cancelled.
Payment details including your payment method and confirmation. Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments and its payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.
Account details including your login and preferences, if you create an account.
Messages including anything you send us, like a customer support question.
Device and usage information including your IP address, device, browser, the pages you visit and how you use the site.

Where We Get It From

Directly from you when you place an order, create an account or contact us.
Automatically from your device when you use our website, through cookies and similar tools.
From our service providers that help us run the store, like Shopify, Google and Meta.

How We Use It

Your order. To process, send and support your order, including returns and exchanges.
Customer support. To answer your questions and help you.
Marketing emails. To send you marketing emails, but only if you've said yes.
Improving our website. To understand how people use our website so we can make it better.
Advertising. To show our ads to people likely to be interested, and to measure whether those ads work.
Security. To prevent fraud and keep our website and payments secure.
Legal reasons. To meet our legal obligations, such as tax record-keeping.

Cookies, Pixels and Advertising

Our website uses cookies and tracking tools from:

Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads)
Meta (the Meta Pixel, used for Facebook and Instagram ads)
Shopify, our online store platform

These tell us things like which ad brought you to our site and whether you went on to buy. Google and Meta may use this information to show you our ads on their platforms, based on what you've looked at on our site. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, and manage your ad preferences in your Google and Facebook accounts.

Marketing Emails

We only send marketing emails if you've ticked the box to receive them. Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time. We'll still send emails about your order, like your receipt and tracking details. We follow the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

Who We Share It With

We only share your information with businesses that help us run the store, and only what they need:

Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments.
NZ Post, to deliver your order.
Google and Meta, as described above.
Our accounting, freight and IT providers.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or prevent fraud, or if our business is sold or restructured.

We don't sell your personal information.

Relationship with Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of our website to provide and improve its services. We also use some Shopify features that combine information about your use of our store with your use of other Shopify stores. For those features, Shopify is responsible for your information, including responding to requests about it. You can read more in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and make requests through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Storing Information Overseas

Some of the businesses we use, including Shopify, Google and Meta, store information outside New Zealand. Before we share your information with an overseas provider, we make sure it's protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.

Keeping It Safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information to us by unsecured email.

If a privacy breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll let you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner know as soon as we can.

How Long We Keep It

We keep order and payment records for at least 7 years, because New Zealand tax law requires it. Everything else is kept only as long as we need it for the reasons above.

Children's Data

Our website isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect information about children. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can:

Access. Ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
Correction. Ask us to correct it if it's wrong.
Deletion. Ask us to delete it. We will, unless we need to keep it by law (for example, order records for tax).
Marketing emails. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails.

Email info@shooaway.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request. There's no charge.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Our website may link to other websites, including social media. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so check their policies before giving them your information.
